Itinerary
 Day
1 : USA-BELIZE CITY-CAYO(D)
Depart USA to Belize City. Meeting and assistance upon arrival
and transfer to your hotel in the Cayo area. Dinner and overnight.
Day
2 : MOUNTAIN PINE RIDGE - CARACOL RUINS (B,L,D)
Following breakfast, you will depart for the Mountain Pine
Ridge Reserve. The Reserve is teeming with hills, valleys,
rivers and falls, swimming holes and caves, all syrrounded
by the majestic beauty of pine forests. Your visit her includes
the Rio Frio Caves, the 1000-foot Hidden Valley Falls (road
condition permitting) and a chance to swim in the cool waters
of the Rio On Pools. Later, continue your tour to the ruins
of Caracol, Belize's most important archaeological site.
Recent
excavations
have led some archaeologists to contend that the significance
of Caracol could rival Tikal. Return to your hotel in Cayo
for dinner and overnight.
Day
3 : RAINFOREST MEDICINAL TRAILS - CHE CHEM HA (B,L,D)
Today enjoy a full day tour of the Rainforest Medicinal Trails
with a visit to Che Chem Ha, a cave site in the Vaca Falls
are. At the
Medicinal
Trails your guide will point out plants and herbs still used
by Belizeans for medicinal purposes. The Che Chem Ha Cave
contains enormous pottery untouched for thousands of years.
( NOTE: Physical fitness is required for the rigorous 30-minute
uphill treck to the cave). Return to the hotel for dinner
and overnight.
Day 4 : BARTON CREEK CAVE (B,L,D)
Following breakfast, you will visit the Barton Creek Cave
by canoe. You may enjoy horseback riding in the afternoon.
Return to your hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Day
5 : CAYO AREA-BELIZE CITY (B, L)
This morning depart by land to the inland Blue Hole. You will
then proceed to Gales Point Manatee via Hummingbird Highway
for a Manatee watch by boat. Continue by land to Belize City.
Overnight.
Day 6 : BELIZE CITY (LAMANAI) (B,L)
Today enjoy a full day tour to the Mayan ruins of Lamanai.
The tour begins via a drive to Orange Walk town where you
will board a riverboat for your one hour journey along the
New River to Lamanai. Orchids, bromeliads and wildlife abound
as the river winds past small villages and farms. Explore
the site, which consists of more than 700 buildings, including
the largest late pre-classic Mayan temple ever found. Return
to Belize City. Overnight.
Day 7 : BELIZE CITY (BARRIER REEF) (B,L)
Following a short flight to Ambergris Caye, you will take
a boat ride to enjoy a relaxing day at the nearby cayes of
Belize's Great Barrier Reef with lunch on a remote island.
For those who enjoy snorkeling in the clear Caribbean waters,
snorkel gear is included. Return to the hotel.
Day 8 : BELIZE CITY-USA (B)
After breakfast, transfer to Belize City Airport for your
flight home.
