Itinerary
 Day
1: USA-GUATEMALA CITY
Depart USA to Guatemala City. Meeting and assistance upon
arrival and transfer to your hotel. Balance of the day at
leisure.
Day 2: GUATEMALA CITY-ANTIGUA (B)
Early morning transfer to Antigua, Guatemala. Antigua was
the third capital of Guatemala, founded by the Spaniards
in 1541, but it was destroyed by a series of earthquakes in 1773.
Antigua still contains some of the region's finest examples
of 16th, 17th and 18th century Spanish colonial architecture
and is a UNESCO "World Heritage" site. A full day tour includes
the Capucinas Convent, La Merced Church, Central Plaza, Cathedral,
Univeristy of San Carlos, San Francisco Church, Ciudad Vieja
and Aguas Calientes. Transfer to your hotel to overnight.
Day 3: ANTIGUA-CHICHICAS TENANGO- LAKE ATITLAN (B)
Drive along the Pan-American Highway to the town of Chichic-astenango,
located between two towering volcanoes, to visit the impressive
open air market. Here you will encounter some of the most
colorful artwork, textiles, and leather products in Guatemala.
Then you will visit the Church of Santo Tomas, built on the
remains of a Mayan temple. Later, continue to Lake Atitlan,
considered by many as one of the most beautiful lakes in the
world. It is surrounded by three enchanting volcanoes and
12 Indian communities. Continue to the town of Panajachel
on the shores of the lake and transfer to your hotel.
Day 4: PANAJACHEL (SANTIAGO ATITLAN) -GUATEMALA (B)
This morning you will cross Lake Atitlan by boat to visit
the picturesque town of Santiago Atitlan, home of the Tuztuil
Indians.In the afternoon, return to Panajachel and continue
to Guatemala City for overnight.
Day 5: GUATEMALA CITY (B)
After breakfast full day at leisure to enjoy the many interesting
sights of Guatemala City, visit a museum or just relax.
Day 6: GUATEMALA CITY-USA (B)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight home.
