Itinerary
 Day
1: USA - SAN JOSE
Depart USA to San Jose, Costa Rica. Meeting and assistance
upon arrival, and transfer to your hotel in San Jose. Balance
of day at leisure.
Day 2: SAN JOSE-TORTUGUERO (B,L,D)
After breakfast, you will depart for Matina or Freeman docks
to start your journey to Tortuguero National Park. A two and
half-hour boat ride will take you through the canals sheltered
within the dense protection of the rain forest. From your
boat you will be able to admire the unique flora and fauna
of this area. Overnight at the lodge.
Day 3: TORTUGUERO (B,L,D)
Today, you will explore the smaller canals of Tortuguero and
experience firsthand the rainforest surrounding you. A hike
to the only hill of this area will present you with a complete
view of the National Park and its water canals. Explore the
little village of Tortuguero or enjoy a walk on the beach.
During the months of May through September you can take the
optional turtle watching tour during the evening to admire
one of the most impressive miracles of life. Overnight.
Day
4: TORTUGUERO-SAN JOSE- ARENAL (B)
Following breakfast you will be transferred by boat to the
Tortuguero airstrip where you will take the flight back to
San Jose. Upon arrival in San Jose, you will be transferred
to Arenal and your hotel. Balance of day at leisure.
Day
5: ARENAL (B)
Morning at leisure. In the afternoon, you will participate in a tour to the Arenal
Volcano. This active volcano well deserves a visit, not only for its constant
activity, but also for its perfect cone and the exuberant vegetation in the surrounding
areas, adorned by the majestic engineering masterpiece of the Arenal Lake. Enjoy
the relaxing scenery and the refreshingly cool alpine region. While there, you
may even witness an explosion of smoke and lava from the mighty Arenal. Overnight.

6: ARENAL- MONTEVERDE (B)
Transfer by shuttle bus to Monteverde. Check in
at your hotel. Overnight.

7: MONTEVERDE (B)
Today you will take a tour to the Monteverde Cloud Forest
Reserve. At 200 meters above sea level, this world famous
cloud forest reserve will be the backdrop for a great hike
where, with the help of your naturalist guide, you will search
for the Resplendent Quetzal. Admire the prehistoric ferns
and the trees full of epiphytes and moss. Afternoon at leisure
to partake in optional tours such as: Horseback ride, Canopy
tour, Sky Walk, or Butterfly Farm. Overnight.
Day
8 : MONTEVERDE-SAN JOSE (B)
After an early breakfast, you will depart on a scenic journey
back to San Jose. Balance of day at leisure.
Day 9: SAN JOSE-USA (B)
Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the USA.
