DAY 1: USA-ISTANBUL
Departure from the USA on your overnight flight to Istanbul,
connecting through Athens.
DAY 2: ISTANBUL
Arrive today at Istanbul's International airport. Upon arrival
you will be met and assisted by FreeGate representatives
through Customs and baggage claim formalities. Transfer
to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure.
DAY 3: ISTANBUL (B,L)
Today you will have the opportunity to visit and discover
Byzantine and Ottoman treasures. Enjoy the wonders of the
Hippodrome Square, St Sophia Church - the largest Christian
church of its era - and Museum, the 17th century Blue Mosque
with its six minarets, the Royal Topkapi Palace and the
historical Grand Bazaar, the world's largest covered market.
DAY 4: ISTANBUL (B)
Day at leisure in Istanbul. You may want to take this opportunity
to take an optional excursion that will cruise the Bosphorus
and explore the Asian side of this fascinating city, or
try your bargaining skills at the Bazaar. Overnight in Istanbul.
DAY 5: ISTANBUL-ATHENS (B)
Say farewell to Istanbul this morning as you will be transferred
to the airport for your flight to Athens. Upon arrival in
Athens you will be met and assisted through Customs and
baggage claim formalities. Transfer to your hotel. The remainder
of the day is at leisure.
DAY 6: ATHENS (B)
Depart for a morning tour of Athens after breakfast. You
will be introduced to the most important sites, including
the famed Acropolis with its dominating view and the site
of the renowned Parthenon. There will be a visit to the
Acropolis Museum. The remainder of the day is at leisure.
Overnight in Athens.
DAY 7: ATHENS (B)
Day at leisure. You may embark on an optional tour, a shopping
spree in the fashionable shops of nearby Kolonaki Square,
or simply enjoy a relaxing cup of strong coffee in a local
café while you watch the people bustling about as
they tend to the every day affairs of this modern city.
DAY 8: ATHENS-USA (B)
After breakfast transfer to the airport for your departure
flight.
