Itinerary
 Day
1: USA-RIO DE JANEIRO
Depart USA via overnight flight to Rio de Janeiro with meals
on board.
Day 2: RIO DE JANEIRO
Meeting and assistance upon arrival in Rio de Janeiro. Rio,"Cidade
Maravilhosa" or the Marvelous City, is considered by many
to be the world's most beautiful city. Rio is woven between
20 miles of white sand beaches trimmed by green, rolling
peaks.
The most famous and beautiful of these beaches are Copacabana,
Ipanema and Leblon. Balance of day at leisure.
Day 3: RIO DE JANEIRO - SUGAR LOAF (B)
After breakfast this morning, you will a great opportunity
to explore more of Rio de Janeiro and its surrounding areas
with a tour to Sugar Loaf Mountain, the guardian of Guanabara
Bay. Here, a thrilling cable-car ride will take you to the
top of the Sugar Loaf, at 395 meters above the city.
Day 4: RIO DE JANEIRO (B)
Today, enjoy a full day at leisure. Relax on the beaches of
Rio de Janeiro or take an optional tour to Petropolis. Petropolis
is reached via a short drive amongst lush vegetation into
the countryside. Petropolis is a small colonial town with
cobblestone streets and horse-drawn buggies. Visit the old
cathedral and the Summer Palace of Dom Pedro II, Brazil's
last emperor. The Palace is now a museum, housing a beautiful
collection of crown jewels, furniture, paintings and tapestries
from the days of the Empire.
Day 5: RIO DE JANEIRO - IGUASSU FALLS (B)
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Iguassu Falls.
Meeting and assistance upon arrival and transfer to your hotel.
In the afternoon, enjoy a walking tour of the Brazilian side
of Iguassu Falls. Stroll amidst catwalks and admire the beauty
and abundance of one of the world's great natural wonders.
These immense waterfalls span over two and one half miles
and across 275 separate cataracts.
Day 6: IGUASSU FALLS - MANAUS (B)
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Manaus. Meeting
and assistance upon arrival in Manaus and transfer to your
hotel. Balance of day at leisure.
Day 7: MANAUS - AMAZON JUNGLE (B,L,D)
Morning pickup from hotel and transfer to the pier for your
35 mile journey by boat to the Ariau Jungle Tower Lodge. The
lodge is located on the Rio Negro and Ariau Creek, near the
Anavilhanas Archipelago. The Ariau Jungle Tower Lodge is constructed
of regional hardwood and is built on stilts. An observation
tower of standing more than 100 feet allows visitors the opportunity
to observe wildlife firsthand. After lunch, take a reconnaissance
tour by motorized canoe to visit native villages. Return to
the lodge for dinner. After dinner, optional night excursion
to view the local nocturnal wildlife.
Day 8: AMAZON JUNGLE (B,L,D)
After breakfast, you will take a morning jungle trek to observe
the surrounding wildlife habitat. After lunch, we board a
canoe for piranha fishing. Return to lodge for dinner. After
dinner, take a night excursion to go alligator spotting by
flashlight.
Day 9: AMAZON JUNGLE -MANAUS (B,L)
Sunrise tour followed by breakfast and morning at leisure.
After lunch, transfer to your Manaus Hotel.
Day 10: MANAUS -USA (B)
Transfer to the airport for your commerical overnight flight
back to Miami via Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro gateways.
