Itinerary
Day
1: USA-BUENOS AIRES
Depart USA via overnight flight to Buenos Aires with meals
on board.
Day 2: BUENOS AIRES
Meeting and assistance upon arrival and transfer to your hotel.
Buenos Aires, located by Rio de la Plata, is one of the largest
cities in the world, with a total of eleven million inhabitants.
Although a modern and dynamic city, it still keeps some of
its old traditions; it is known as the most elegant city in
all of South America. As the capital of the tango, football
(soccer), Gauchos and "Asado", Buenos Aires offers its visitors
numerous alternatives to spend some memorable moments. To
truly understand the spirit of the city, it is necessary to
stroll the downtown streets to visit some of the cafes and
elegant shopping opportunities available. Balance of day at
leisure.
Day 3: BUENOS AIRES (B)
Begin you day by getting acquainted with the city of Buenos
Aires, also known as the "Paris of Latin America". You will
visit all major points of the city including the Plaza de
Mayo, Avenida 9 de Julio and the famous Italian district
of
La Boca. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 4: BUENOS AIRES (B,L)
After breakfast, you will depart on a full day excursion across
the pampas or plains to a typical estancia (Argentine ranch)
where you will experience local ranch life and enjoy a Argentine-style
barbecue lunch. A day at an Estancia is typically filled with
food, wine, a musical show, folk songs, a demonstration of
gaucho skills, and plenty of fresh air. Late afternoon return
to Buenos Aires for overnight. Balance of day at leisure.
Day 5: BUENOS AIRES -USHUAIA- MARE AUSTRALIS CRUISE (B,D)
After breakfast, you will transferred to the airport for your
flight to Ushuaia. Meeting and assistance upon arrival and
transfer to the M/V Mare Australis. The Captain and crew will give a welcome
cocktail reception on board. Immediately afterward, the ship will set sail
for “the uttermost part of the earth.” Through the mythical Strait of Magellan,
you will travel to Southern Patagonia, including Tierra de Fuego. This
is the beginning of a Great Adventure!

6 : CRUISE (Cape Horn – Wulaia Bay)(B,L,D) (B,L,D)
This morning proceed through the Beagle Channel & Murray Channel to Cape
Horn National Park. In the afternoon you will disembark in historical Wulaia
Bay, once the site of one of the region’s largest native settlements. This
area is also renowned for the spectacular beauty of its vegetation and geography.
Walk through a Magellanic forest filled with Lengas, Coigües, Canelos, ferns
and other species to reach a look-out point.

7: CRUISE (Chico Inlet) (B,L,D)
Disembark in Chico Inlet for a zodiac boat approach to Piloto and Nena glaciers,
providing you with a closer look at these awe-inspiring masses of ancient
icel.

8: CRUISE (Madgalena Island) - PUNTA ARENAS
(B)
Early in the morning you will disembark on Magdalena Island,
the home of an immense colony of more than 120,000 Magellanic
Penguins that you will be able to observe during a
walk to the Lighthouse that guides different ships on
their
way through the Strait of Magellan. Pick
up from the ship and transfer to your hotel. In the
afternoon embark on city tour of
Punta Arenas, including a general view
of the city and Straits of Magellan from the observation
point
of La Cruz Hill. The
Regional
Museum, kept by the Salesian Friars, holds a magnificent
collection of flora and fauna of the region and exclusive
relics of the
folklore and handicrafts of the native Indian tribes. Your
visits to the Shepherd¹s Monument, Unknown Indian¹s
Tomb and the Patagonian Institute with its botanical garden
and museum complete your tour. Overnight.
Day 9 : PUNTA ARENAS-PUERTO NATALES (B)
Today you will depart north of Punta Arenas through the endless
Patagonian Steppes, crossing trout-filled rivers, beech tree
forests, sheep ranches and saw mills, towards Puerto Natales.
Overnight.
Day
10 : PUERTO NATALES-TORRES DEL PAINE PARK (B)
Following breakfast, you will embark upon a full day tour
to Torres del Paine National Park, located 150km northwest
of Puerto Natales. Here, you will visit the "Salto Grande" Waterfall
and enjoy glimpses of herds of
guanacos, foxes, swans, and a variety of small-sized birds.
The imposing grandeur of this mountain range is breathtaking.
In the afternoon, you will return to Puerto Natales via a
visit to Mylodon's Cave. This is an impressive natural cave
where a gigantic prehistoric fossil was discovered, a replica
of which can be seen at the entrance of the cave. Overnight
in Puerto Natales.
Day 11: PUERTO NATALES-PUNTA ARENAS-SANTIAGO (B)
Following an early breakfast, you will be transferred to the
airport near Punta Arenas for your flight to Santiago. Meeting
and assistance upon arrival and transfer to your hotel. In
the afternoon you will enjoy a
half-day tour of the city. Santiago is a city of contrasts
with traditional areas, a civic and commercial center and
a modern district. The tour includes such highlights as the
Club Hipico, a beautiful horse-racing track,
Cousino Palace, the "La Moneda" government palace,
the Pre-Columbian Art Museum, and the Plaza de Armas. A little
further you cross the Mapocho river and head straight towards
the San Cristobal Hill on the north side of
the city with a fine all-round view of the capital stretched
out below. Halfway down the hill, you will stop for a wine
tasting at a local wine house. Overnight.
Day
12 : SANTIAGO (VINA DEL MAR & VALPARAISO) (B)
Following breakfast, depart on a full day tour to Vina del
Mar & Valparaiso. After crossing the coastal range through
tunnels and the unique Curacavi farming valley you will begin
feeling the cool breeze of the Pacific Ocean. Continue to
Via del Mar, Chile's most popular seaside resort. Skirting
along the coast, you proceed to Chile's main international
seaport, Valparaiso. In the afternoon, you will return to
Santiago. Overnight.
Day 13: SANTIAGO-USA (B)
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for
your flight back to the USA.
