Itinerary
Day
1: USA-LIMA
Depart USA via your overnight flight to Lima with all meals
served on board.
Day 2: LIMA
Meeting and assistance upon arrival and transfer to your hotel.
Lima is the capital city of Peru, founded by Francisco Pizarro
in 1535. Your afternoon tour visits landmarks of the city
such as the magnificent 17th century San Francisco monastery & its unique cloisters, Plaza de Armas to see the Government
Palace, the court of the Inquisition & the Cathedral.
Continue through the Boulevard of the Republic and the districts
of San Isidro & Miraflores to enjoy a spectacular view
of the Pacific Ocean.
Day 3: LIMA-ICA (NAZCA LINES) (B)
You will be transferred to the bus station where you will
begin the 4-hour motorcoach drive south along the coast on
the Pan-American highway to Ica, wine capital of Peru. You
will enjoy a short commuter-like flight to Nazca; change planes
and over-fly the mysterious Nazca markings, one of Peru's
archaeological treasures. The Nazca Lines are huge geometric
figures carved in the desert floor, of completely unknown
origin. Return to Ica for overnight.
Day 4: ICA-LIMA (B)
Morning at leisure to relax by the pool or explore the area.
Perhaps partake in an optional tour to the Ballestas islands
in Paracas, known as the "Peruvian Galapagos", inhabited by
boobies, pelicans, sea lions & penguins. The excursion
also includes a visit to the Paracas Museum and Natural Reserve.
In the afternoon you will make your way back to Lima and
overnight.
Day 5: LIMA-CUZCO (B)
Darly morning transfer to the airport for your flight to Cuzco.
Morning at leisure to adjust to the altitude. In the afternoon,
you will enjoy a City Tour of Cuzco, the former capital city
of the four regions that formed the Inca Empire. The tour
includes highlights of the Colonial city such as the Cathedral,
Santo Domingo church, the Plaza de Armas & visits to the
Inca ruins of Tambomachay, Kenko, Puca-Pucara & Sacsayhuaman's
gigantic zigzag-walled fortress.
Day 6: CUZCO-MACHU PICCHU (B,L)
Early morning you will board the train for a three-hour journey
through Urubamba Canyon to the famous ruins of Machu Picchu "the Lost City of the Incas". Machu Picchu was only discovered
in 1911 and consists of over 200 buildings. A guided tour
will take you through Temples, Houses & sacred Altars
of this advanced hidden world. Buffet lunch is included.

near the Ruins.
Day 7 : MACHU PICCHU-CUZCO (B)
Today you will have the morning at leisure to continue exploration
of Machu Picchu on your own. In the afternoon, board the train
for your journey back to Cuzco for overnight.
Day 8: CUZCO-LIMA (B)
This morning you will be transferred to the airport for your
return flight to Lima. Meeting and assistance upon arrival
and transfer to your hotel. Balance of day at leisure.
Day 9: LIMA-USA (B)
After breakfast at your hotel you will be transferred to the
airport for your departing flight home.
