Itinerary

Your ItineraryDay 1: USA-LIMA
Depart USA via your overnight flight to Lima.

Day 2: LIMA
Meeting and assistance upon arrival and transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is free for your own activities.

Day 3: LIMA (B)
Your morning tour visits landmarks of the city, such as the magnificent 17th century San Francisco monastery & its unique cloisters, Plaza de Armas to see the Government Palace, the court of the Inquisition & the Cathedral. Continue to the Gold & Arms Museum which houses an impressive collection of Peruvian artifacts.

Day 4: LIMA-CUZCO-PISAC- OLLANTAYTAMBO (B,L)
Morning flight to Cuzco. Embark on an excursion to the famous Pisac Indian Market in the Urubamba valley (sacred valley of the Incas) & the magnificent fortress of Ollantaytambo. Return to Cuzco for overnight.

Day 5: CUZCO (B)
Enjoy a city tour of Cuzco, the former capital city of the Inca Empire. Included highlights are the Cathedral, Santo Domingo church, the Plaza the Armas & visits to the Inca ruins of Tambomachay, Kenko, Puca-Pucara & Sacsayhuaman's gigantic zigzag-walled fortress.

Day 6: CUZCO-MACHU PICCHU (B, L)
Board the train for a 3-hour journey to the famous ruins of Machu Picchu. A guided tour will take you through Temples, Houses & Sacred Altars of this advanced hidden world. Return to Cuzco.

Day 7: CUZCO-LIMA-QUITO (B)
Transfer to the airport this morning for your flight to Lima, with connecting flight to Quito, Ecuador. Meeting and assistance upon arrival in Quito and transfer to your hotel for overnight.

Day 8: QUITO-GALAPAGOS - Bartolome Island (B,L,D)
Early morning flight to Baltra, on Bartolome Island in the Galapagos Islands. Upon arrival, you will board your cruising vessel to the Galapagos, the M/V Galapagos Legend. This afternoon, you will visit Bartolome Island. The volcanic formations on this island give you the feeling of walking on the moon. Hiking to the summit of Pinnacle rock with give you an impressive view of the island, as well large colonies of marine iguanas, lava lizards, tiquilla, bushes, and various cacti. Later on enjoy snorkeling to spot Galapagos penguins, marine tortoises (Jan-March) and white tipped sharks. Dinner and overnight aboard your ship.

Day 9 : GALAPAGOS - Urbina Bay (Isabela) and Fernandina (B,L,D)
This morning you will disembark to visit Urbina Bay on Isabela, the largest island in the GalapagosIsland. Head towards the fossil beach and then to the coral area. On the way and depending of the season it will be possible to observe many endemic organisms such as: giant tortoises, land iguanas and flightless cormorants.
Espinosa Point (Fernandina Island): Here you will see the biggest marine iguanas mingling with sally-light foot crabs. You can also enjoy the flightless cormorants nesting sites, the Galapagos penguins, Galapagos hawks, and sea lions. Among the flora and volcanic formations observers will note brachycereus cactus, and two kinds of lava formations “pa-hoe-hoe” lava and ”AA”. Numerous mangrove beds extend into the sea, depicting a healthy and thriving eco-system.

Day 10 : GALAPAGOS - Egas Port (Santiago Island) (B,L,D)
Visit the dark sand beach at Egas Port during a wet landing. Most of the landscape is tuff-stone layers and lava flows, the surrounding area is good for spotting and observing hunting herons, great blue herons, lava herons, oyster catchers, and the yellow crowned night heron. You will enjoy the sight of marine iguanas grazing upon algae beds at low tide sharing space with red sally light-foot crabs. There is a colony of fur-seal swimming in deep pools of cool water called “grottos”. In this beach you can swim and snorkel in search of octopuses, sea horses, star fish and other sea life.
Rábida (Jervis): Arrive at the dark red colored beach of volcanic origin frequented by sea lions. It is often considered the geographic center of Galapagos because it has the most diversified volcanic rocks of all the Islands.A short trail leads to a salt water lagoon, where you will occasionally find flamingos. July thru September is a good time of the year to observe how brown pelicans nest in the salty bushes found at the far side of the salty lagoon. Also to be observed are boobies and 9 species of Darwin’s finches. Dinghy ride by the reefs and an excellent opportunity for snorkeling.


Day 11: GALAPAGOS - Santa Cruz (B,L,D)
Today you will have the opportuinity to explore the Charles Darwin Research Station in Puerto Ayora, staffed with international scientists conducting biological research and conservation projects. Here you can also admire giant tortoises that are part of the breeding program. One can also admire the impressive giant prickly-pear cactus forest and many land birds. The visit to the station takes around 40 minutes. After this visit, you will have some free time to walk around town and shop for souvenirs.
Santa Cruz (Highlands): One of the options is to cross the highlands of Santa Cruz. You will visit Cerro Chato, where you can observe the famous giant tortoises that gave the name to these islands.

Day 12: GALAPAGOS - Santa Cruz - Baltra - QUITO
Landing at Bachas beach which is located at north coastline of Santa Cruz Island. Here you will be encountered by different sea birds, marine iguanas, sea turtles, and you will have the opportunity to swim in this white sandy beach. Return to the Galapagos Legend, check out and transfer to the airport. Return flight to Quito through Guayaquil.
Transfer to your hotel.

Day 13: QUITO (B)
Today's city tour takes you to the Legislative Palace, the monastery of San Augustin, Plaza of Independence, La Compania Church, Cathedral of San Francisco &Panecillo Hill for a panoramic view of the city. In the afternoon you will visit both the Equatorial Monument and the museum. Snack is included.

Day 14: QUITO-USA (B)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight home.
