Itinerary
DAY 1: USA/LISBON
Evening departure from New York via overnight transatlantic
flight with meals on board.
DAY 2: LISBON
Morning arrival in Lisbon. You will be met at the airport
and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day
is at leisure. Lisbon is historic, romantic and colorful,
with fine shopping and dining at affordable prices. You
may want to explore the city on your own or take an optional
tour.
DAY 3: LISBON (B)
Today’s Lisbon tour includes
the Tower of Belem, the Black
Horse Square, the Jeronimos
Monastery and the Royal Coach
Museum. The afternoon and
evening are at leisure. You may
wish to visit a fado nightclub in
the evening and listen to traditional
Portuguese music.
DAY 4: LISBON - OBIDOS-NAZARE
BATALHA - FATIMA -
ALCOBACA-ABRANTES
(B, D)
After breakfast today depart
from Lisbon and head towards
Obidos a medieval symbol of
narrow streets surrounded by
walls. continue towards the typical
fishing village of Nazare.
Also admiring the harmonious
lines of the monasteries of
Batalha, one of the masterpieces
of Manueline architecture and
Alcobaca. Then on to Fatima,
the world famous center of pilgrimages,
and proceed to
Abrantes for dinner and
overnight.
DAY 5: ABRANTES- CASTELO DE
VIDE- MARVAOESTREMOZ-
EVORA (B, D)
Depart after breakfast from
Abrantes for Castelo de Vide,
proud of its old Jewish quarters.
Continue to the medieval town
of Marvao with its white
washed houses, keeping watch
over the plain from the top of its
castle. Then on to Estremoz –
marble quarries. Arrive in Evora
for a walking tour of this museum
town that is a part of the
World Herritage. Dinner and
overnight.
DAY 6: EVORA - BEJA - SILVES -
ALVOR (B, D)
Evora is a beautiful city with a
rich historical past. You could
visit the remarkable Roman
Temple of Diana, dating from
the 2nd century and considered
to be the most perfect Roman
monument on the Iberian
Peninsula. Also see the
University and the Church of S.
Francisco. In the afternoon
southwards journey passing
through Beja and Silves. Arrive
in Alvor for dinner and overnight.
DAY 7:
ALGARVE (B, D)
The charm of the old legends of
bewitching morrish maidens and
the call of the sea that led to the
discovery of the new worlds.
Today you will visit the old city
of Lagos, where you can see the
statue of Prince Henry, the
Chapel of St Anthony and
admire the views from Ponta de
Pientale. Continue to Sagres –
the symbol fo the Portuguese
epic. The afternoon will bring
an invitation to take a dip in
warm sea. Dinner and overnight
in Alvor
DAY 8: ALVORA - LISBON (B)
Drive via the lush green scenery
of the Arrabida Mountains, an
area preserved as a natural park
for its scenery and unique vegetation,
passing through the coast
of Setubal. Arrival in Lisbon via
the 25th of April Bridge, the
longest in Europe.
DAY 9: LISBON - USA (B)
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for
your departure flight.
