Itinerary
DAY 1: USA/LISBON
Evening departure from New York via overnight transatlantic
flight with meals on board.
DAY 2: LISBON
Morning arrival in Lisbon. You will be met at the airport
and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day
is at leisure.
DAY 3: LISBON (B)
SA tour of Lisbon this morning
includes the Tower of Belem,
the Black Horse Square, the
Jeronimos Monastery and the
Royal Coach Museum. The
afternoon and evening are at
leisure.
DAY 4: LISBON - NAZARE-FATIMA - LEIRIA
(B, D)
After breakfast today you will
depart towards Obidos for a
walking tour. Continue to
Batalha and Alcobaca, architectural
landmarks and monasteries.
Visit the fishing town of
Nazare. Then on to Fatima,
world's famous site of pilgrimage.
Finish today's travel in
Leiria for dinner and overnight.
DAY 5: LEIRIA - CONIMBRIGA -
BUSSACO - AVEIRO (B, D)
Morning departure to
Conimbriga to visit the Roman
ruins, continuing to the university
town of Coimbra . Continue
through Bussaco forest and the
city of canals, Aveiro and Porto
for dinner and overnight.
DAY 6: PORTO (B, D)
Oporto is the second
largest city of Portugal
and world heritage by
UNESCO. This morning
visit the riverside area,
old houses, palaces,
churches and discover
Port wine, known
worldwide. Dinner and
overnight in Porto.
DAY 7: PORTO - MINHO -
GUIMARAES - BRAGA -
BARCELOS- PORTO (B, D)
Minho, the northeast province
of Portugal. Guimaraes, birthplace
of the nation, stop at
Colina Sagrada, castle and
Palace of Duques de Braganssa.
Braga, city of archbishops and
the country’s religious capital
with the oldest cathedral of
Portugal and the sanctuary of
Bem Jesus de Braga. Pass by
Barcelos, the town of the legend
of the rooster. Return to Porto
for dinner and overnight.
DAY 8:
PORTO -
AMARANTE -
VILA REAL -
VISEU - URGEIRICA (B, D)
Depart on a picturesque drive
and enter the Port wine region,
the Douro Valley, by the way of
Amarante and Vila Real. In the
mountainous hinterland lies
Viseu, a city of warriors and
painters. Arrive in Urgeirica for
dinner and overnight.
DAY 9: URGEIRICA - CASTELO DE
VIDE (B, D)
Travel to the heart of Portugal,
crossing the Estrela Mountains,
through Castelo Branco with its
lovely gardens and staircase of
the kings, and arrive in Castelo
de Vide, proud of its Jewish
quarter of whitewashed houses.
Dinner and overnight.
DAY 10: CASTELO DE VIDE -
ESTREMOZ - LISBON (B)
Depart southward,
hills and extensive
green and gold plains
alternate, among which we
find Estremoz and its marble
quarries, continue to Evora, a
living museum of tradition and
history, handicrafts and gastronomy.
Continue to Lisbon for
overnight
DAY 11: LISBON - USA (B)
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for
your departure flight.
