Itinerary
Day 1, Sat: USA-Casablanca Evening
departure from New York via overnight
transatlantic flight with meals on board.
Day 2, Sun: Casablanca-Rabat (L, D) Arrive
today at the Casablanca Mohamed V airport
where you will be met by your local host
and assisted through baggage claim formalities.
Begin the day with a sightseeing tour
of Casablanca, the business capital of
Morocco. See the great Mosque of Hassan
II and stroll along the Ain Diab corniche.
Enjoy a seafood lunch and depart for Rabat,
the administrative capital of Morocco,
and see the Mohamed V Mausoleum. Late
afternoon check in at the hotel in Rabat
for dinner and overnight.
Day 3, Mon: Rabat-Meknes-Fez (B, L,
D) After breakfast at the
hotel depart to Fez with a stop at the
Roman ruins and the sacred town of Moulay
Idriss I. Enjoy lunch in Volubilis and
continue to Meknes, known as the "Moroccan
Versailles", founded at the end of
the 17th century by Moulay Ismail. Sightseeing
in Meknes will include Bab Mansour, Hari
Souani and the old medina. Arrive to Fez
for dinner and overnight.
Day 4, Tue: Fez (B, L, D) The
entire day is devoted to sightseeing of
the city of Fez, the oldest, cultural
and spiritual city of Morocco. You will
see craftsmen working the old-age way
and have a chance to purchase these items.
Enjoy a Moroccan lunch in a typical local
restaurant and continue sightseeing in
the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at
the hotel.
Day 5, Wed: Fez-Midelt-Erfoud (B,
L, D) After an early breakfast
depart to Midelt through the wooded middle
Atlas. Along the way visit Azrou, a berber
village known for its handicraft cooperative.
Reach Midelt, an important mining center
and stop for lunch. Afternoon arrival
to Erfoud for dinner and overnight.
Day 6, Thu: Erfoud-Rissani-Tineghir
(B, L, D) After breakfast
depart for Tineghir via Rissani, the birth
place of the Alaouite dynasty which is
known for its dates market. Visit the
ruins of Ksar Abbar and proceed through
the Tinjdad road to arrive in Tineghir
for lunch at the hotel. In the afternoon
visit the famous Todra Gorges with their
impressive bare escarpments. Dinner and
overnight at the hotel.
Day 7, Fri: Tineghir / Ouarzazate
(B, L, D) After breakfast
today depart for Ouarzazate via El Kelaa
M'gouna and the Dades Valley. You will
have a short visit of this small city
known for its annual rose festival. After
lunch continue to Ouarzazate. Check in
at the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 8, Sat: Ouarzazate (Ait Ben Haddou)
(B, L, D) After breakfast
visit Ouarzazate with the Tifoultout and
Taourirt Kasbahs, then depart to Ait Ben
Haddou village. Have lunch upon arrival
and visit the ruins of this ancient Kasbah
before returning to Ouarzazate for dinner
and overnight.
Day 9, Sun: Ouarzazate (Zagora) (B,
L, D) Today will be devoted
to an excursion to Zagora via the Agdz
and the Draa Valley. Lunch upon arrival.
In the afternoon you will have an orientation
tour of Zagora and visit the Tamegroute
village, famous for its library that holds
a large collection of rare and old manuscripts.
Return to Ouarzazate for dinner and overnight.
Day 10, Mon: Ouarzazate-Marrakesh
(B, L, D) Depart after
breakfast to Marrakesh via the Tiz-In-Tichka
pass, 2260 meters high, and Taddert. Arrive
in Marrakesh for dinner and overnight.
Day 11, Tue: Marrakesh (B, L, D) Today
visit Marrakesh with the Saadian Tombs,
the Koutoubia, the Bahia Palace and the
Menara Garden. Return to the hotel for
lunch, then explore the souks and the
Djemaa El Fna place with its various entertainment.
In the evening enjoy a Moroccan dinner
at a typical restaurant.
Day 12, Wed: Marrakesh / USA (B) After
breakfast you will be transferred to the
airport for your departure.
