Itinerary

Day 1, Sun: USA-CAIRO
An overnight
transatlantic flight, with meals on board, takes you to
exotic Cairo.
Day 2, Mon: CAIRO
Enjoy a warm welcome at the airport from our representative,
who will assist you through customs and baggage claim formalities
and escort
you to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure.
Day
3, Tue: CAIRO-MUSEUM OF ANTIQUITIES-CITADEL-MOSQUES (B)
Your tour this morning starts with the impressive
Cairo Museum of Antiquities.
It houses treasures from the 1st to the 31st dynasties
of Egypt's Pharaohs, including the treasures of King Tutankhamun.
Continue to the Citadel of Salah El Din. Built in 1183
AD, it houses many important monuments, including the Great
Mohammed Ali Mosque. Your visit continues to the Sultan
Hasan Mosque and the fascinating Khan El Khalili Bazaar.
Return to the hotel.
Day 4, Wed: CAIRO-PYRAMIDS & SPHINX-MEMPHIS-SAKKARA

Today's full-day tour
begins with a visit to the Pyramids and Sphinx of Giza. After lunch (optional),
you will visit Memphis, the capital of ancient Egypt, to see the statue of Ramses
II and the alabaster Sphinx of the 18th Dynasty. Continue to Sakkara to see the
Step Pyramid, the oldest in Egypt, and the famous Mastaba tombs. The evening
is free for your own activities.
Day 5, Thu: CAIRO-LUXOR (NILE CRUISE)-TEMPLES
OF LUXOR & KARNAK (B,L,D)
Morning
transfer to the airport for the short flight to Luxor, to board your Nile cruise
ship. After lunch on board, you will visit the Temples of Luxor and Karnak. The
afternoon is free to relax on board the ship.The evening dinner on board is followed
by a belly dance show. Overnight in Luxor.
Day 6, Fri: LUXOR-WEST BANK-EDFU (B,L,D)
Early in the
morning you will cross the Nile to its West Bank. Highlights
of the tour include the Valley of Kings
and Queens, where dynasties of Pharaohs were buried, the Great Temple
of Queen Hatshepsut at El Deir El Bahari, and more. Stop
at Medinet Habu to see the twin
Colossi of Memnon, the enormous seated statue facing the Nile. Return to
the ship for lunch. Sail to Edfu. In the evening you will
enjoy the Captain's welcome
cocktail party, followed by dinner. Overnight in Edfu.
Day 7, Sat: EDFU- KOM OMBO (B, L, D)
Today's visit in
Edfu includes the superbly preserved temple of the falcon
god Horus. After lunch on board. the ship
sails to Kom Ombo. In Kom Ombo you will visit the temple
shared by the two gods, Sobek
and Haroeis. Dinner on board is followed by a Galabeya Party. Overnight
in Kom Ombo.
Day 8, Sun: KOM OMBO-ASWAN (B,L,D)
Sail in the morning
to the Nubian town of Aswan. Sightseeing begins with a
visit to the High Dam, built by President
Nasser to control the flooding of the Nile. Then, travel
by boat to the Temple of Isis,
rising off the waters of Lake Nasser on the island of Philae. Continue
to the ancient Granite Quarries and the enormous 170
foot-long unfinished Obelisk. After
lunch on board, sail the Nile by felucca around Elephantine Island
to view the Agha Khan Mausoleum and Kitchener's Island,.
Tonight's
dinner on board is followed
by a Nubian folkloric show. Overnight in Aswan.
Day 9, Mon: ASWAN-CAIRO (B)
Disembark after breakfast
and transfer to the airport for your flight to Cairo. Meeting
with your host upon arrival and transfer
to your hotel. The balance of the day is at leisure.
Day 10, Tue: CAIRO- DEPARTURE(B)
Transfer to the airport for your flight
home.
